It's something we already do with our fiat money: place it somewhere where it can earn interest! Or borrow the money to someone who pays you interest on it. There are several options in this arena for the crypto space, but the one that seems most credible is:

Coinloan.io

CoinLoan is the first P2P lending platform for cryptoassets backed loans.

They have a calculator on their home page. If I borrow them 1000 TUSD for 6 months, they will give me 12% interest. Their website says that works out to 60 TUSD, but let's do the math:

12% of 1000 TUSD = 120 TUSD. Which is what you would earn in a year. Half of that gives us 60 TUSD for 6 months.

So yes, it does seem like you can get a whopping 12% fixed interest.

They even have an option whereby they pay back the principal amount. So if you invested 1000 USD, they will slowly pay back that amount along with the interest, until the full amount is paid back.

Seriously amazingly cool! I am going to test this out right now!

How did your test go? Or too soon to say?

I haven't actually deposited cash yet. There were deals for 150 TUSD for 12.5% for 7 days to 6 months. And many other deals too, even some for 15%. I think I'm going to try and find a 15% one for 2 months and see how that goes. Will update here once I've tried it.
